Well...he has arrived!
When I was little I would tie my winter hat under our kitchen table. Easter Bunny would fill this with Peeps, a solid bunny, probably a skipping rope, a ball, candy, ect. The hat was always one of those ear flap kind with a tassel on top. I was always so excited. I remember the warmth of the kitchen wood stove surrounding me as I tried to secure that well worn winter hat to the old chrome table pushed up against the window and the linoleum flooring cold on my feet no matter what the temperature of the kitchen. I remember my mother reading me Peter Rabbit and I remember the heaviness of the homemade quilts as she tucked me in, in my comfy iron bed. I remember wondering how Easter Bunny had it alot harder than Santa, as he had to hop everywhere. Santa, well he had those reindeer and the sleigh. I remember the smell of the Easter Lilly and the time spent going to church. Easter for me was a signal that spring was truly here, not much school left and the beginning of being able to spend more time outside.
Here are the greatest gifts of all:
The hunt is now on! Easter Bunny left so many little chocolate eggs everywhere!
John found one for baby girl.
He brought a Dora guitar. Big hit!
Little miss feel asleep coming back from Nan and Pop Brentnall's last night. We managed to get her jeans off but no jammies!
