Nanny's House-Memories
It's always a challenge to get to Nanny's house
but once we get there we have a lovely time.
It is a different pace.
It is evening fires with wieners and marshmallows.
It is walks to the wharf to see the boats.
It is outdoors,
smelling the flowers,
and just relaxing.
I have very fond memories of this place.
It is special time with my family and friends.
Enjoying my mother's company,
and remembering the people who are gone.
They are with me when I am home.
It is remembering sitting in my brothers car listening to the radio when I was a teenager. I wonder what he would be doing, what he would be like if he were alive.
It is remembering my dad, seeing him sitting at the end of our kitchen table drinking his tea, remembering his hands, they told the story of his life, hard work and dedication to his family.
I went to visit his grave today.
He has not been with us for many a Father's Day.
I miss him.
It is really nice to get back to where you came from.
One day when Jane is older we will bring her back to
Hunan.
We will bring her to her finding place in Hengyang.
We will take her to her orphanage.
We will give her what we can.
I hope it is enough to fill her with peace and help her make her way in this unfair, uncertain world
As we race through life, we tend to forget the important things. It's tough because we are all busy. We take a lot for granted. Sometimes we just need to slow down and remember what is really important.
Those we love.

Duck...Duck...Swing
What a beautiful crisp day to feed the duckies! Jane just loves quack quacks and we really lucked out today when all these baby duckies came right up to her. Too sweet!

A Visit with Ryan
There is a very small Chinese community in my area. When I say very small I mean about 3 families. Any opportunity we get to have special playtime we graab it. Here is our new found friend Ryan from Halifax. Ryan recently joined his forever family. Like Jane, Ryan was a waiting child. His special need was club feet. He has had his surgery and he is doing great! His feet look awesome! He will be running in no time!

Spring in my Step
We are trying to get out every day that we can. Spring here is awful. There is still a bitter chill in the air. Most days the wind is howling. There are a lot of foggy, rain filled days.
Today it is lovely!
Always the adventurer.
The weather sucks but it is never a bad day with a sucker in hand!
It is what it is!
My little asian flower next to my Forsynthia-a deciduous flowering shrub native to Eastern Asian.
This shrub does not last long but it is a beauty...just like my little girl!

It's the 24th of May!
The last Monday before May 25 is for most Canadians, the unofficial beginning of summer. It is officially a federal holiday in honour of Queen Victoria. Campers get their trailers out, de-winterize them, stock them with too much food and beer and head out to their favorite camping spot. Some crazy Canucks even pitch a tent. It has snowed in Newfoundland many a May 24th weekend. We, of course, headed to our cottage.
Scratch on the eye already!!
Favorite toys!!
Peek a Boo!!

Peek a Booing with Jane!
We all had a great weekend with lots of friends around. The weather was, of course , lovely on the last day!! Who would have guessed!!
